What would be the most stunning place in commuting distance to Albany, North Auckland, New Zealand?

I may be moving to the Auckland area soon, working in Albany, which is a few kilometres north of Auckland. I currently live on the Otago peninsula, which is a truly stunning place, scenery-wise. Is there a place of comparable beauty within about a 50km-radius around Albany, maybe? Thanks.

Right---try Shelley Beach on the Kaipara, Muriwai/Waimauku, Karekare (although that may be a bit far away for commuting) Puhoi, Cornwallis, or even around Greenhithe/Hobsonville, Stanmore Bay or other places at Whangaparoa, and also a recommendation, don't end up at Paremoremo (on the inside). You probably won't find any of these places as good as the Otago Peninsula, but have a look at them anyway. Driver T
